Liverpool to sign Udinese midfielder

Liverpool to sign Udinese midfielder who is interested in moving to anfield

According to the Metro, Liverpool are interested in signing Udinese’s central midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu as Brendan Rodgers seeks cover in his midfield.
Badu has impressed in Serie A this season and is apparently available for around £7 million.
While Liverpool are in need of cover in the full-back areas, Rodgers is keen to bolster his midfield options with Badu thought to be a target ahead of the January transfer window that opens later this week.
Apparently Liverpool have been informed of the player’s desire to play in the Premier League, and are now planning a £7 million bid.
The 23-year old can play in both midfield and defence, meaning he would provide valuable cover in both positions, where the Reds lack depth, as Rodgers men chase Champions League football.

The Udinese ace admits there has been no talks between the two clubs but would relish moving to Anfield.

“It will be a dream come true to play a club like Liverpool,” Badu told Sportsxtra.

“If the offer comes and the two parties (Udinese and Liverpool) agree, why not.

“My wife is a Liverpool fan so it will be a honour to play for such a big club.”

Badu made eight appearances and scored one goal for Udinese before the winter break.

Liverpool agree deal for Salah

Liverpool reportedly agree deal for Salah

Basel winger Mohamed Salah will fly to Merseyside to undergo his Liverpool medicals and sign a four-year deal on Thursday. Fee is €8m.

Liverpool have apparently agreed a deal to sign Basel's Mohamed Salah when the transfer window reopens according to Sports Mole .

Reds manager Brendan Rodgers insisted on Sunday that no arrivals were imminent, but Sport-Express.ru. claims that the Anfield club have secured the 21-year-old Egyptian winger on a four-year contract.

The Egyptian ace – who has been dubbed as his nation’s answer to Lionel Messi – has been earning rave reviews for his displays this term, which include two goal-scoring outings against Chelsea in the Champion League group stage.
Brendan Rodgers is desperate to land fresh faces once the transfer window opens after losing a number of first-team stars to injury, and it is understood that a deal for Salah is close to being completed.

Rodgers is only looking to bring in players that he feels can improve his first XI and has been impressed with Salah, who scored in both ties as Basel did the Champions League double over Chelsea this season.

The fee in question for the Basel ace is said to be between £7-8m, with the Swiss side’s elimination from the Champions League having been a major factor.

Salah, who has scored six goal in 24 appearances this term, had previously interested Tottenham Hotspur, but now seems to be Merseyside bound in a switch that will reportedly go through on  January 2.

SAS is Back !!!

Sturridge might be back to partner Suarez sooner rather than later

Double defeats over the festive period has seen Liverpool drop from first place on Christmas Day to fifth place on New Years, but as Joe Allen and Mamadou Sakho go onto the treatment table following Liverpool’s 2-1 defeat to Chelsea on Sunday, a number of Reds players are jumping off it and will be back in the mix in the very near future.
Brendan Rodgers confirmed that skipper Steven Gerrard could be fit to face Hull City on Wednesday as the calendar rolls over, and though he wasn’t mentioned specifically by the Northern Irishman. Daniel Sturridge is also on the road to recovery with pictures coming out of today’s training session at Melwood showing the striker kitted up and ready to go ahead of an expected return to action by the second week of January.
Brendan rogers has revealed that Sturridge could be available for game against Hull City.
B.R. - "We will assess that in the next 24hrs. Daniel is ahead of schedule. He might not be too far over the few weeks. He was out running the other day doing straight-line running and he is now doing more multi-directional running and then training next week and we will have a good week of training."
"Over the next couple of weeks we will get those players back and it will look a lot brighter for us."
Daniel Sturridge

Three matches in eight days has taken a toll on an already thin squad, but the return of the likes of Gerrard and Sturridge, along with an astute purchase or two during the January window, could re-ignite the title charge that everyone even remotely associated with Liverpool is quick to talk down – or, at least, that’s the story they should be sticking to.

Liverpool prepare shock move for Chelsea's experienced left back

Liverpool prepare shock move for Chelsea's experienced left back

According to outrageous reports from CaughtOffside and the Daily Express, Liverpool are preparing a shock transfer move for Chelsea’s left-back Ashley Cole.

The 33-year-old defender has been in-and-out of Jose Mourinho’s first 11 recently, and has often been ousted by Cesar Azpilicueta in the left-back position.
Ashley Cole is reportedly unlikely to be offered a new contract before the end of the season when his current agreement ends. Liverpool hope to take advantage of this fragile contract position and make a move for the defender this January.
A move for the ageing defender hardly conforms with Liverpool’s usual policy of youth development, but Brendan Rodgers is tempted to make an exception for the legendary left-back.
While John Flanagan has done well recently, it is hard to ignore the fact that Ashley Cole would be a significant improvement in that position for Liverpool.
PSG and Spurs are reportedly keen on the player, but it remains to be seen whether or not he will be willing to move out of London to play for the first time in his career.
I would rather prefer that LFC don't go for Cole or even Bertrand (previously linked) since Flanagan is showing signs of improvement and Enrique is due to return in february .The signing of Cole or Bertrand will only make Liverpool's wage bill higher now that Suarez is on a 200k per week contract.

After watching a Liverpool match, French man wants to move to the Premier league

After watching a Liverpool match, French man wants to move to the Premier league

Yann M'Vila must have been impressed by the Premier League when he turned up to the Merseyside derby to watch his friend Mamadou Sakho play for Liverpool, so impressed that it's convinced him to do all he can to get a move to England in the January transfer window.
When he was pictured in the away end at Goodison Park the inevitable rumours of a Liverpool move started and the latest news from Russia is only going to give them a little more basis. Izvestia is reporting that M'Vila wants a quick exit from Rubin Kazan because he hasn't adapted to life in Russia and has a dream to play in the Premier League.
He's not prepared to wait until the summer and Izvestia say he's pleaded with those in charge at the club to let him go without too much trouble if a decent offer comes in next month. M'Vila was not so long ago one of the most wanted youngsters in European football but some off the pitch issues tarnished his reputation and he was banned from the national team after going to a nightclub whilst on U21 duty.
By that age, 22, he'd already made more than 20 appearances for the full national side and there were rumours of transfers to Europe's biggest clubs. He's played well in Russia but Rubin Kazan are struggling and all isn't well at the club, making him want an exit even more.
If Brendan Rodgers is looking for a young combative midfielder with huge potential, he could do an awful lot worse.

Egyptian 99% a Liverpool player - Zika (Video)

Egyptian 99% a Liverpool player - Zika

Salah - Basel

FC Basel and Egypt star Mohamed Salah is expected to join Liverpool in January, says former teammate and close friend Mohamed Zika.
In an interview on Egyptian TV programme ‘Kora Kol Yoam’ hosted by Karim Shehata, Mohamed Salah’s former Arab Contractors teammate Mohamed Zika reveals the Basel star is likely to join Brendan Rodgers’ side in January.
Karim Shehata explained that Mohamed Salah called Zika a few days ago to invite him to his wedding – which was yesterday – and he later told the Ismaily midfielder that he’s ’99%’ certain to join Liverpool this January.
Host Shehata added that Salah was hoping Basel would progress in the Champions League before deciding on his future, but after they were eliminated following a 2-0 loss to Schalke, the Egyptian is anxious for a move in January.
When Zika was asked to confirm this dialogue with the 21-year-old Basel star, he said: “Basically, yes. Inshallah (if God wills).”
“He makes us and all of Egypt proud. Everyone talks about Mohamed Salah now. And aside from that he’s my friend, so I’m even happier for him,” he added.
This comes after Salah’s recent eye catching performances in Europe as he just narrowly missed out on reaching the Champions League knockout stages with Basel.
According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool coach Brendan Rodgers flew to Germany last Wednesday to watch Salah in action against Schalke in the Champions League, and are now prepared to make a £12 million offer for the Egyptian winger.
Salah, who already has 17 international goals to his name, has scored 10 goals so far this season - including two Champions League strikes against Mourinho’s Chelsea.
The Egyptian winger, who recently said he is focused with Basel and not on the bids being reported by the press, named Real Madrid, Manchester United and Chelsea among his favorite clubs.

Liverpool set to reject loan advances from Napoli for Agger

Liverpool set to reject loan advances from Napoli for Agger

Liverpool are expected to reject an offer from Napoli to take Daniel Agger on loan for the remainder of the season after Rafa Benitez reportedly made bid for the defender.
The Spanish manager has spoken of his admiration for Agger amongst a group of Liverpool players he has worked with in the past and Napoli have reportedly made their interest in the Denmark international serious with a bid to take him on loan for the rest of the season.
ESPN reports that the Serie A side are determined to tempt Agger into a move but Liverpool are more than likely to turn down such an offer, particularly after the vice-captain said no to a move to Barcelona in the summer and reaffirmed his commitment to Brendan Rodgers.
As the Reds are currently sitting in second place in the table Agger has featured for the side 13 times this season to help them to a wildly successful start.
He publicly said he didn't want a move to Barcelona in the summer and wanted to fight for his place at Liverpool amongst a host of defensive signings.
"Everyone at the club is an integral part of my life," he told reporters at the time. "I have a You'll Never Walk Alone tattoo. I don't mind if we don't finish in the top four. I love the club."
The comments certainly endeared fans to Agger even more, especially considering that at the time Luis Suarez was publicly pushing for an exit from the club.
Although Benitez might have a good understanding with Agger, this rumor seems childish.
I mean why would Liverpool want to send thier vice-captain on loan. I feel an offer of around 15m might persuade liverpool to consider selling Agger considering his age and a more than capable replacement available in Sakho.

LFC to renew interest in Sevilla midfielder

LFC interest in La Liga midfielder

Spanish newspaper Estadio Deportivo reports : Liverpool could be set to renew interest in Croatian midfielder Ivan Rakitic

The Sevilla midfielder was thought to be on the radar on the Reds, along with Lazio, Manchester United and Chelsea, in the summer and reportedly said he was 'flattered' by Brendan Rodgers' interest.
Recent reports in Spain suggest if the player's €40m clause is met the 25-year-old Croatian could be allowed to leave the La Liga side for whom he has scored 7 goals and got 5 assists for this season.

Ivan Rakitic is exactly the player needed , one who commands the midfield and also chip in with some goals. But a €40m clause could be a major set back. Although a bid around      10-12m should be enough for Liverpool to persuade Sevilla to sell him as the spanish club are having their own financial problems.

Here is why he would be a great addition to the current Liverpool squad.

Liverpool boss takes a scouting trip to Germany for German Star -Daily mail

Liverpool boss takes a scouting trip to Germany for German Star -Daily mail

Brendan Rodgers personally flew to Germany last night to watch Julian Draxler star for Schalke in their Champions League victory against Basel.

The 20-year-old German international is drawing interest from clubs across Europe and the midfielder, who plays in the No 10 role, is a long-term target at Anfield.

Although Steven Gerrard is having an excellent season in the heart of the Liverpool midfield, Rodgers says he sees Gerrard, now 33, dropping into defence as he gets older, with Draxler a potential successor to the England captain.

Draxler, who burst onto the scene at Schalke at just 17, scored to send Schalke into the knockout stages of the Champions League.

Basel needed only a draw to progress but Draxler starred, picking up the man of the match award before being taken off after 66 minutes because of a groin injury.

Liverpool will face a fight to sign the highly-rated youngster, with Chelsea and Arsenal leading the charge for the playmaker.

Kevin de Bruyne, who increasingly finds himself frozen out by Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, could be used in a swap deal for Draxler.

Arsenal have long been admirers of Draxler, but last month Draxler said he needed regular first team football ahead of the World Cup, which could open the door further for a move to Anfield.

He would be a great signing for Liverpool . But will he be attracted to Liverpool project ,with potential other heavy weights interested in him ??

Liverpool want 26 goal Sweden international

Liverpool want 26 goal Sweden

international

Liverpool have identified Ola Toivonen of PSV as a January transfer target, write the Mirror. Toivonen scored 26 goals last season for the Dutch side, and the Reds are aiming to sign him without barely paying a penny.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is keen to take the versatile Swede on loan for the remainder of the season, with a view to signing him permanently in the summer.

Toivonen, who can play in either midfield or attack, will be a free agent this summer when his contract with PSV expires.

Liverpool are said to be willing to offer the Dutch club a relatively small fee to take the player on loan for what is left of the current campaign.

The Reds also attempted to sign Toivonen under Kenny Dalglish in 2010.

'I am sure there will be something between now and the end of the season to keep him here' - Breandan Rodgers

Brendan Rodgers hints at new Luis Suárez deal

'I am sure there will be something between now and the end of the season to keep him here' - Breandan Rodgers

Brendan Rodgers has hinted that Liverpool will offer Luis Suárez a new deal before the end of the season.

The Uruguayan, who scored four goals in the 5-1 rout against Norwich City on Wednesday night, has two-and-a-half years remaining on his current deal which the 26-year-old signed at the start of the 2012/13 campaign.
"I am sure there will be something between now and the end of the season to keep him here"
Rodgers on Suárez’s future
Suárez was the subject of a unique £40m and £1 bid from Arsenal in the summer as the Gunners sought to activate “a gentleman’s agreement” in his contract that allowed the forward to leave if a Champions League club made a bid.

However, Liverpool rejected Arsenal’s offer and Reds boss Rodgers insists no such clause exists in Suárez’s contract despite conflicting reports.

“There never was [a 'gentleman's agreement'] before, and there never was this summer,” Sky Sports News quotes Rodgers as saying. “The contract was what it was.

“We want him to stay and, with his contract running for two-and-a-half years, I am sure there will be something between now and the end of the season to keep him here.

“The most important thing is that the player is happy. I didn’t sit in on the conversations last summer but, as I understand it, there is no agreement of any kind. I think all parties are fairly comfortable at the moment. We made our feelings known in the summer and it is where it is.”

Besiktas interested in Liverpool's 19-year old future star

Besiktas interested in Liverpool's 19-year old future star

Turkish side Besiktas are in talks with Liverpool over the transfer of 19-year-old striker Samed Yesil.

The 19-year-old’s career hasn’t taken off at Anfield due to injuries and the Metro reveals he is keen to get his career back on track with a January transfer.

Yesil joined Liverpool in 2012 from Bayer Leverkusen and has impressed at every youth level for Germany, scoring 17 times in 16 games at U17 level and four in three matches at the UEFA U19 Championship last year.

According to the Metro, Besiktas have been watching the youngster for several weeks and are now ready to make an official bid following his performance for the U21s this week.

It is thought Besiktas are willing to offer £2million for the German who scored in a 2-0 win over Aston Villa with Besiktas scouts in attendance.

Yesil has only ever made two appearances for the Liverpool first team, starting matches against Swansea City and West Brom in the League Cup last season.

Could this Barcelona forward make Liverpool genuine title contenders?

Could this Barcelona forward be a solution for Liverpool?

Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United have all been alerted to the news that Spanish forward Pedro is unsettled at Barcelona and is keen on a move to the Premier League, according to reports.
The 26-year-old has been with his boyhood club his entire career but is struggling to establish himself as a regular in Gerardo Martino’s first team this season with the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Cesc Fabregas, Neymar and of course Lionel Messi all ahead of him in the pecking order.
This has led to reports suggesting he will seek a move next month in order to secure more regular playing time to boost his chances of earning a starting spot for Spain at next summers World Cup, with the Premier League understood to be his preferred destination.
The Mirror reports that Manchester United and Liverpool have been put on alert and are ready to offer the striker an escape route to England in January, with both David Moyes and Brendan Rodgers keen on adding to their attacking options for the second half of the season.
But while interest in the player may be growing here in England, Barcelona are unlikely to welcome any enquiries. Although Pedro may not be a first team regular, he is still an important member of the squad who’s contributed 7 goals this season, so they are likely to do all they can to hang on to him.
The striker’s contract runs until 2016 and includes a buy-out clause worth £125m, so the Catalans are under to pressure to sell. Therefore the only feasible way a move could happen is if Pedro forces his way out with a short-term loan deal the most likely possibility if Barca do agree to let him go when the transfer window re-opens in January.

Despite immense competition for a place in the Barcelona staring line-up,Pedro achievement has great.

2009-10 : 22 goals/4 assists in 50 apps
2010-11 : 22 goals/8 assists in 52 apps
2011-12 : 13 goals/6 assists in 51 apps
2012-13 : 10 goals/7 assists in 48 apps
2013-14 :  9 goals/2 assists in 22 apps

Pedro would a great signing . But can Liverpool pull off such high caliber signing?

Some reports suggests Liverpool might offer £15m + Pepe Riena for Pedro.
With Pepe Riena's Liverpool future all but over , it seems a pretty good offer.
But will Pedro jooin Liverpool f.c. ,we'll see !!

Liverpool want England Under-21 Striker

Liverpool want England Under-21 Striker

Liverpool’s deficiencies at the front of the line came to the fore against Hull City last weekend, when the side struggled to cope without injured striker Daniel Sturridge and lacked any creativity or bite upfront.
According to reports in the Daily Mirror, manager Brendan Rodgers is looking solve this problem by making a move for Burnley striker Danny Ings. The 21-year old is a first team regular for the Championship outfit and has scored 15 goals in 21 appearances already this season.
Although Burnley will want to hold on the striker, they are reportedly in need of funds and a substantial bid from the Reds may be hard for them to turn down. The player too is likely to be tempted to make the move, even though he will mostly be used as a cover for Sturridge and Luis Suarez.
However, while the move may make sense to some, one feels that a playmaker should perhaps be first priority for Brendan Rodgers, since he does have the likes of Iago Aspas and Victor Moses to provide cover upfront while not having anyone to take the place of Philippe Coutinho.
Another problem with this deal may be the transfer fee, with Liverpool unlikely to spend big on a Championship striker.

Rogers eyes £10m Bundesliga star

 Rogers eyes £10m Bundesliga star

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is prepared to make a £10million bid for Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Granit Xhaka

Swiss source Infoticker.ch claims that the Reds are leading the chase for the talented 21-year-old as the January  transfer window approaches.
Liverpool's Merseyside rivals Everton have also been linked with Xhaka in the past, though he continues to attract attention from bigger clubs with his ever-improving displays in the Bundesliga.
Rodgers' side have been over-reliant on youngster Coutinho for creativity this season, and have as such been linked with several attacking midfielders of this mould, including PSG playmaker Javier Pastore, as well as Derby County wonderkid Will Hughes.
Liverpool brought in a number of new players over the summer and seem likely to continue spending as they hope to sustain a challenge for a top four place this season.

Liverpool scout Wigan ace as Mignolet backup

Liverpool  scout Wigan ace as Mignolet backup

Liverpool are reported to be keeping tabs on young Wigan goalkeeper Lee Nicholls as cover for Simon Mignolet.

The 21-year-old has impressed since breaking into the Wigan side and Latics boss Owen Coyle has already predicted that the youngster has a very bright future in the game.

Brendan Rodgers has sent scouts to watch Nicholls in action and although he dropped a clanger against Zulte Waragem in midweek, the reports back have been favourable.

Brad Jones currently acts as back up to Mignolet, but Rodgers is keen to draft in a youngster who he can groom to one day become number one at Anfield, and Nicholls could be that man.
