In an interview with the Telegraph, former Liverpool winger Stewart Downing has spoken of his thought process behind his summer move to West Ham United, along with his hopes for the future.
Referring to his £6million move, Downing said, “I didn’t have to think about it that long. I just said, ‘Okay, I will sign tomorrow.’ And that was it. Done.”

I didn’t want to sit around because Brendan will want to keep on spending and reinforcing and wanting his own team. So I had to make a decision and Sam Allardyce gave me the opportunity."The player also revealed Brendan Rodgers wanted him to remain at the club, although he could not guarantee a regular starting place.

In potential future transfer news, the Metro claims that reported Liverpool target Lacina Traore could be on his way to the club in January.
The Anzhi Makhachkala striker’s agent has said, “If a good offer arrives that suits us then Lacina is free to leave in January.”
After an initial deal to bring the Ivorian to Anfield is believed to have fallen through last year, Rodgers may now ultimately get his man.
