Everton plan shock loan move for Liverpool star

Everton are plotting a surprise January loan move for Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling, according to reports from CalcioMercato.
The 18-year-old has barely featured for the Reds this season after enjoying a wonderful breakthrough campaign during 2012/13.
The teenager was thrust into Brendan Rodgers’ first-team plans early on last term due to a lack of experienced alternatives, and justified the hype surrounding his abilities with a string of impressive displays.
But, his starting opportunities eroded towards the end of the season and have been virtually non-existent this time around.
Sterling has been limited to a number of short cameo outings from the bench, and was even deployed as an auxiliary right wing-back against Crystal Palace.
Despite his infrequent playing time, Rodgers sees the England international as a vital player in his long-term vision for the club, and is keen for him to play regularly to gain experience opening the door for a loan move.
This has alerted local rivals Everton, who are keen to offer Sterling more first-team opportunities.
Despite the intense rivalry between the two sides, Liverpool may be keen to sanction a short-term deal with the geographical proximity of the Toffees ideal for keeping an eye on their starlet.
Meanwhile QPR – whom Sterling started his career with – are also monitoring the situation.
Could Raheem Sterling really swap Liverpool for Everton in January?
