Liverpool Encouraged In Signing Barcelona Forward

Liverpool have been alerted to signing Barcelona forward Cristian Tello after the Spaniard has opened the door for a move away from the Catalan club next year. The 22 year old has been on Brendan Rodgers’ radar as the Northern Irishman was keen on landing him in the summer.

However, the deal did not take any shape and Tello went on to reveal that he snubbed a chance to join the Merseyside club in order to continue with the La Liga winners. The forward came up through the ranks of Barcelona’s academy and was widely believed to be one of the brightest prospects to graduate from La Masia.
Tello made his way into Barcelona’s first team three years ago, but has failed to establish as a first team regular since then. The Spanish giants have the services of Lionel Messi, Alexis Sanchez and summer arrival Neymar on the wider positions.

“Right now I am very happy, but next year we’ll see. Every year I’ve felt more integrated into the team, more mature, but then every year you want to play as much and when the season ends we’ll see what suits me best,” Talksport quoted Tello as saying.
“[I want to be] playing as much as possible but I know who I have in front of me. But hey I’m ready to play it all if needed. I know that I can perform at the top, but that’s the coach’s decision. He has to choose between all of his options,” he added.
Rodgers signed Victor Moses on loan from Chelsea, who arrived at Anfield earlier in the summer. The former Wigan Athletic player has been preferred ahead of Luis Alberto and Raheem Sterling on the wider positions.
Moses was signed on a season-long loan and with Sterling’s ongoing issues off the field, coupled with injuries has been hampering his playtime and performance. In such situation a move for Tello either in January or next summer could be a viable option for Liverpool.
Tello has made two assists from six La Liga appearances this season while during the previous campaign, the Spaniard netted seven goals and created four more chances from 22 league appearances.
Should Liverpool sign Tello, the addition of the Spaniard in the Reds’ starting line would bolster their attacking division.
