Liverpool still in the running to land young Lucas Digne they chased all summer

Liverpool are still very much in the running to sign French left back Lucas Digne having chased the 20 year old former Lille defender all summer, only to see him move to Ligue 1 champions Paris St. Germain instead.
However, Digne has failed to settle in the French capital and has started just two league games for PSG since his 13 million pound move. There were rumours doing the rounds that Digne could leave PSG this winter for AS Roma, who are presently top of Serie A, having won all 6 of their opening games so far this season, having conceded just 1 goal in the process. Roma is presently being managed by former Lille boss Rudi Garcia and it is believed that a future reunion could have been on the cards. But Digne’s representatives have come out in the press this week to dismiss the rumour with Mikkel Beck telling Tuttomercatoweb: “Rudi Garcia obviously knows him well, but at the moment we are absolutely not thinking of a move away from PSG in the future.”
The lack of playing time being afforded to Digne, and dismissal of the interest of Roma both bode well for Liverpool, who are clearly still interested in signing the youngster.
