Liverpool linked with January move for £10million striker

Liverpool linked with January move for £10million striker

The January transfer window is fast approaching and as always, Liverpool will be linked with moves for players across Europe. Today, The Mirror is reporting that Marseille striker Andre Ayew is a £10million target for Liverpool.
Ayew has 18 months left on his contract and Marseille could be ready to cash in on him as early as January so that they do not run the risk of losing him for free if he runs down his contract and refuses to sign a new one.
The Ghanaian striker is still only 23-years old and that could tempt FSG to buy him as that ties into their policy of bringing in young talent.
Now some may wonder why Liverpool need to bring in another striker when there are areas such as central midfield and right back that need urgent attention. Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez are the two main strikers for Liverpool now and I can not see anyone coming in and breaking up their partnership. Any striker to come in would have to be content with sitting on the bench and waiting for their chance.
Iago Aspas who joined Liverpool in the summer from Celta Vigo is the current back up striker at Liverpool but he has not had the best of starts to his Anfield career as he has not found the back of the net yet. There are suggestions already that Aspas could return to Spain. Whether Aspas stays or goes, Liverpool still need another quality striker as most title wining squads have at least four decent strikers on their books; Liverpool currently only have three, Sturridge, Suarez and Aspas.
Having a look at the video above of Ayew’s goals, it is clear to see that he is no slouch in the air and enjoys scoring headed goals. With the lack of quality wingers at Liverpool who are capable of whipping the ball into the box, Ayew would have to rely on his footwork more than his head if he moves to Anfield.
