Reina to Barcelona for just €5m?

Reina to Barcelona for just €5m?

Napoli’s on-loan ‘keeper Pepe Reina could join Barcelona in the summer for as little as €5m, claim Mundo Deportivo.
The Spaniard is one of a number of shot-stoppers who the Nou Camp outfit are monitoring given the proposed summer exit of Victor Valdes.
Although Reina moved to the Stadio San Paolo in the summer, he will be recalled to Liverpool at the end of the campaign.
At that point, Barca could activate a verbal agreement between the Premiership club and the player’s agent who are said to have already agreed a €5m exit fee.
The report also suggested that the €5 million Euros will be split into equal amounts of €2.5 million, meaning Reina will be sold for as little an initial amount of just over £2 million.
“The starting price for the summer of 2014 he was traded to the president Reina Liverpool's Ian Ayre. In addition, the payment of these five million will also help the club wants to sign him next summer. And it is agreed that the transfer fractionated Reina: 2.5 million the first year and another 2.5 the next year,” the report goes on.
If Mundo are accurate, which is questionable, the only possible scenario is that Reina just wants out and Brendan Rodgers sees no possible future for him at Anfield, with the club agreeing to the price structure simply to allow all parties to move on.
The 31-year-old’s contract at Anfield runs until 2016.
