LIVERPOOL owner John W Henry last night insisted that Luis Suarez will NOT be sold.

The American emphasised the club's stance just hours after the Uruguayan was ruled out of tonight's friendly against Valerenga in Oslo with a foot injury.
Suarez was sent for scans yesterday to discover the extent of the problem which has surfaced as he tries to engineer a move away from the club, with Arsenal having had a bid of £40m-plus £1 rejected.
Defiant Henry insisted Liverpool were a buying and not a selling club and he also denied suggestions that his Fenway Sports Group was looking to dispose of the entire club less than three years after buying it.

“Luis Suarez is very much a Liverpool player - there is no real value in discussing it unless someone comes close to the valuation”

Speaking at a reception at the American embassy in Oslo, Henry said: "We have no intention of selling one of the best players in the world to one of our rivals. We like to buy stuff, not sell.
"Luis Suarez is very much a Liverpool player - there is no real value in discussing it unless someone comes close to the valuation.
"This is a football club that has stood by him in some of the darkest moments of his career."
Suarez lasted nine minutes of a training session yesterday before walking gingerly back to the changing rooms.
