Liverpool Target Capel Wanted By Arsenal
Sporting Lisbon’s Diego Capel is the latest player to be listed as an Arsenal target following interest from Liverpool throughout the summer.
Reports from Portugal earlier this week suggested Liverpool would need to spend £6million on Capel if they were to sign the winger, a fee worth double a previous offer.
Now the Express report that Arsene Wenger has also added the 25-year-old to his wanted list with time running out before the transfer window shuts.
Portuguese publication O Jogo believe Arsenal are interested in Capel because he fits into the style of play at the Emirates and a formal enquiry could be made as early as the next few days.
The Spaniard has two international caps both coming back in 2008 before his move to Sporting in 2011.
Capel came on in the final 20 minutes of Sporting’s 5-1 win over Arouca on Sunday in the opening game of the new season.
