Liverpool’s Suarez Continues To Show What Awaits The Premier League On His Return
Luis Suarez once again showed his match-winning capabilities on Friday night as he helped Uruguay to a 2-1 victory over Peru, scoring both goals for his country.
The Uruguyan striker has been forced to sit out the start of the Premier League season as he continues to serve a ban for biting Branislav Ivanovic towards the end of last season.
However, that has not stopped the striker from scoring as he made it three goals from two games for Uruguay in the past month, striking once in each half against Peru.
Suarez opened the scoring just before half-time from the penalty spot, sending the opposition keeper the wrong way.
On 67 minutes he doubled Uruguay’s lead with an unstoppable side-footed shot into the roof of the net.
The 26-year-old has been the centre of attention at Anfield during the summer after he pushed a move to Arsenal in the search of Champions League football.
Liverpool refused to sell him and he has now said he is ‘delighted’ to still be at the club.
