Liverpool are lining up a bargain move for Palermo striker Abel Hernandez ahead of the opening of the January transfer window.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has already confessed he didn’t do all the business he wanted to during the summer, and he is currently assessing his options.
Another forward remains a priority, and Liverpool are now looking at bringing in powerful hitman Hernandez from Palermo.
The 23-year-old is highly rated but is unhappy with life in Italy, and almost secured a switch to Arsenal on transfer deadline day, only for the deal to collapse at the last minute.
Liverpool though believe they could get him for around £4million in January, and think his arrival could help them keep hold of Luis Suarez.
The duo are both Uruguay internationals and enjoy a close friendship, and could form part of an exciting forward line with Daniel Sturridge at Anfield.
A fast, strong and powerful forward who can also play out wide, Hernandez is contracted to Palermo to 2016 but has previously admitted his desire to move to the Premier League.
