Liverpool handed Glen Johnson boost as Daniel Sturridge eyes Swansea return

LIVERPOOL defender Glen Johnson is hopeful of making a speedy recovery and returning to action sooner than he thought.

The right-back sprained his ankle during a collision with Patrice Evra during the Reds' 1-0 win over Manchester United and left Anfield on crutches.
Johnson subsequently missed England's two World Cup qualifiers against Moldova and Ukraine, and the original prognosis was that he would be out for up to 10 weeks.
But he appeared more upbeat when he gave a bulletin on his fitness on Twitter this morning.

He tweeted: "Injury doesnt seem as bad as first thought, hopefully be back sooner than originally expected! #BetterNews."
Johnson also tweeted his gratitude to everyone who has posted get well messages.
Meanwhile, Daniel Sturridge is optimistic he will be fit for Liverpool's trip to Swansea on Monday.
