PSG tell Liverpool: 'Pay £12 million for Sakho'
Liverpool have been told they will have to pay £12 million to sign Paris Saint-Germain defender Mamadou Sakho.
The Ligue 1 side, backed by Qatari billions, have informed both Liverpool and AS Roma of their valuation of Sakho, who is pushing for a transfer out of Paris.
Sakho, a France international defender, is resolved to leaving PSG where he has slipped down to fourth choice centre-back behind Brazilians Marquinhos, Thiago Silva and Alex.
The arrival of Marquinhos in a £27 million deal with Roma in July, saw Sakho make up his mind to quit the club.
It remains to be seen whether Liverpool are prepared to meet PSG's valuation of the player.
Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers has intimated his summer transfer spend is not yet over, without mentioning specific targets.
Italians Roma however, also in the chase for Sakho, could use funds from the imminent sale of forward Erik Lamela to Tottenham Hotspur to finance a deal for the defender.
