Liverpool have not made a bid for Leandro Damiao despite reports, insists Internacional president Giovanni Luigi.
The Reds were believed to have been in touch with the Brazilian side over the striker’s availability, with reports suggesting boss Brendan Rodgers was preparing for the potential departure of Luis Suarez.
The Uruguayan has been linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer, despite recently backtracking on his desire to leave Anfield.

‘There is nothing,’ said club president Luigi. ‘Liverpool never made any offer, and I have never received a phone call from them.
‘I don’t even know if they could afford to sign Leandro Damiao.
