Iago Aspas: Key to Liverpool's success

Iago Aspas won't jump out at any regular football fan as a supreme talent this year, but he is.
Aspas is influential for Liverpool, the Premier League's form team. He is a potent attacking threat for the Anfield side despite having scored no goals yet this season. Aspas did manage to score four goals in pre-season though, so the goals will surely come for the Spaniard.
The reason why Aspas is so important to Liverpool is because his link up play is first class and his movement off the ball is second to none. Aspas also set up four goals in pre-season and assisted Daniel Sturridge's goal against Stoke City on opening day.
The Aston Villa game however is where Iago Aspas was so impressive, the striker set up chances that the stats don't even show with his off the ball running and cute dummies. He didn't need to touch the ball, he just used his movement.
In the second half a ball was played in to Aspas, he ran out of the attacking line, brought a centre back with him and let the ball run through his legs, conning the defender and opening up loads of space for young Philippe Coutinho, who on this rare occasion, failed to capitalize.
Later on in the half a ball was played into Aspas at head height and when the everyone in the ground thought he was going to pull the ball down on his chest he ducked letting the ball elude the defender behind him and meet the run of advancing full-back Glen Johnson, who in the end blazed high and wide.
Sturridge's goal's and Coutinho's amazing ability will take a lot of the attention from the Liverpool number nine but Aspas will probably welcome not being stuck in spotlight, if he continues to pull defenders left and right for his striking partner Liverpool can have a very good season.
Aspas is very good and dropping between the lines of the opposition's defense and midfield, he comes looking for the ball to bring more players into the game and create more movement in the forward line.
Finally, what can't go unnoticed is how much work Aspas does off the ball, when it is in possession of the other team, he did pick up a yellow card for his trouble's against Aston Villa but he was constantly forcing the Villa defense into mistakes. He is small and skinny but is strong on the ball, he can push people off it too.
Aspas doesn't need to score goals to be a success for Liverpool this season, but he probably will. He adds so much to the team and to manager Brendan Rodgers' philosophy of pressing high up the pitch whilst using quick passing and movement on the ball. Aspas has many useful dimensions to his play that can make him a massive success in England
