Liverpool FC Transfer Rumour Mill: Reds to swoop for Papadopoulos and Lescott, PSG hold out for £12m Sakho bid, Real Madrid's late Suarez swoop, Torres shock link
Rodgers set to make several late bids to strengthen Liverpool squad
Liverpool FC boss Brendan Rodgers will look to strengthen his defensive options by looking to lure Man City centre-back Joleon Lescott to Anfield.
The experienced former Everton man is one of a number of defenders Rodgers is looking to sign before the transfer window shuts.
Rodgers would also like to sign Kyriakos Papadopoulos from Schalke having seen other options being ruled out.
Rodgers has lost Kolo Toure and Sebastian Coates through injuries and appears reticent to use Martin Skrtel, who was frozen out of first team action for much of the second half of the 2012/13 campaign.
Liverpool, meanwhile, continue to work on a deal to sign defender Mamadou Sakho with PSG holding out for a fee within the region of £12million.
In other Liverpool Fc transfer reports, Real Madrid are to lodge a late bid this weekend for Luis Suarez while Portuguese sports newspaper A Bola suggest the Reds may make a shock bid for ex-striker Fernando Torres.
