Liverpool set to make new bid for Mamadou Sakho after Kolo Toure injury
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has spent the last few weeks trying to bring in another centre back, with 23-year-old Sakho a top target.
Rodgers has already seen an £8million offer rejected for the player, but is expected to go back with a new one before Monday’s transfer deadline.
The urgency to get Sakho is boosted after Toure picked up a groin problem in Liverpool’s 4-2 win over Notts County in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday.
Liverpool are still assessing the injury, but Toure looks set to join Uruguayan ace Sebastian Coates on the treatment table, leaving the Anfield out painfully short of cover.
Sakho has already been told he can leave PSG for the right price, but it’s thought the Ligue 1 champions want at least £12million for his services.
Arsenal, Tottenham and AC Milan also hold a long-term interest in Sakho, but the trio are yet to approach PSG to do business.
