The Reds have not lost a match in all their pre-season fixtures, keeping a clean sheet in all five matches thus far.
The Reds were much the better side in the first half, creating several goalscoring opportunities early on. However, they would have to settle for a 1-0 lead at half-time thanks to a Joe Allen tap-in at the far post after some good work by Iago Aspas down the left.
Allen had another opportunity shortly before the interval to double the lead, but failed to get enough on his header to trouble the keeper.
The hosts continued to test and probe after the interval and it was only after the introductions of Luis Suarez, Jordan Henderson and retired defender Jamie Carragher that the Reds doubled the advantage.
Raheem Sterling put Henderson through on goal in the area after some fantastic dribbling, and the 23-year-old midfielder effortlessly slid the ball past the goalkeeper.
Much to the delight of the home fans, there was a cameo appearance from Reds legend Robbie Fowler late on. Unfortunately the 38-year-old could not find the net on his return to Anfield, although he came desperately close in the closing stages, denied only by a last ditch save by the goalkeeper.
Liverpool next face Valarenga in midweek, before travelling to Dublin to take on Celtic in their final pre-season friendly heading into the new Premier League campaign, which kicks off on August 17
