With the two clubs having agreed on a €17 million fee yesterday, Mamadou Sakho’s move to Liverpool from PSG is set to be formalised and announced today.
Sakho took a snap with rapper mate Mokobe just after the deal was done, with the message ‘Direction: Liverpool’.
Sakho, 23, is a Paris born-and-bred French international, who many believed would be a ‘one-club man’ a la Steven Gerrard, but with his playing chances significantly reduced in World Cup year, with Thiago Silva and Alex blocking his path, Sakho saw the appeal of joining Liverpool and the Premier League.
Liverpool’s defensive line now looks significantly bolstered with the imposing 6’2 physique of Sakho.
