Liverpool bid £8m for PSG’s Mamadou Sakho

Liverpool submit £8m offer for PSG defender Mamadou Sakho

Liverpool are ready to make more moves in the transfer market and have made an £8million bid for Paris Saint-Germain defender Mamadou Sakho.

According to Metro, Brendan Rodgers is keen to further reinforce his back line and has made an approach for the out-of-favour France international.

Liverpool have already signed Kolo Toure on a free transfer after he was released by Manchester City to make up the shortfall in experience following the retirement of Jamie Carragher.

However, other reports have linked current Anfield centre-back Martin Skrtel with a move to Napoli, which could have some thing to do with the Sakho bid.

Big-spending AS Monaco were also credited with an interest in signing the France international and they would potentially be able to offer far higher wages than Liverpool.

Sakho has been down the pecking order at PSG following the arrival of a number of high-profile signings in the form of Thiago Silva, Alex, Marquinhos and Lucas Digne.

The Metro report claims he has accepted he will have to move elsewhere for regular first team football after being dropped by France coach Didier Deschamps following a lack of playing time.
