Liverpool facing off against AC Milan in race to sign top Serbian

Liverpool target Adem Ljajic
Ljajic, a former Manchester United target prior to his move to Fiorentina, has also been on the radar of a number of high profile sides this summer, which include the likes of Manchester City, Atletico Madrid and Galatasaray.
Regarding the future of the 21 year old at Fiorentina, club president Andrea Della Valle was quoted telling Sky Sport Italia: “Ljajic? I cannot give any answers right now, but there are several different options available. He could still stay at Fiorentina, though there’s not much chance of that happening. Next week we will make a decision, so give us a few more days. Personally I would like to keep him, of course, but one has to understand the player’s intentions and the atmosphere.”
Meanwhile, Liverpool might have to face significant competition from AC Milan, who have already had two offers for the player rejected, in their bid to acquire his services. His 12 goals, coupled with 8 assists, in a total of 31 appearances for his club last season have been enough to assure Rodgers of his capabilities and the Liverpool boss certainly wouldn’t want to miss out on the golden chance to sign him.

Ljajic, has a year left on his current deal and the Italian club are likely to sell the attacking midfielder to prevent losing him on a bosman.
This has alerted a number of European clubs, including Liverpool Tuttomercatoweb.com reports, after they missed out on Willian earlier this week.
And Fiorentina president, Andrea Della Valle has accepted Ljajic’s decision to leave.
“It’ difficult to see Ljajic staying with us”.

The 21 year old scored an impressive 11 goals in 28 Serie A appearances, to help the Italian club finish fourth.
Liverpool boss, Brendan Rodgers, is keen to add to his squad before the transfer window shuts, and it is believed Ljajic could be available for around €9m(£7.5m).
