Former Liverpool cult hero Julian Dicks has tipped the Anfield outfit to clinch a Champions League spot this season.
Dicks spent a season at the club under then manager Graeme Souness in the 90s and sealed a place in the club's history books when scoring the last goal ever in front of the old Spion Kop.
He admits he had one of the most enjoyable seasons of his life at the club before returning to West Ham United.
And he is convinced that manager Brendan Rodgers has assembled a team which can rekindle the glory years by finishing the season in the top four.
Speaking exclusively to SportsDirect News he said: "Brendan has had a terrific transfer window and but I think winter signing Philippe Coutinho holds the keys to their success.
"He looks sensational and has everything you require in an attacking midfielder. He can really make the team play.
"Daniel Sturridge too looks a bit of a monster so far and he's a player I've always liked. With Luis Suarez coming back - and assuming he can stay away from controversy - those two together will be dynamite.
"At the back too the team looks really strong and I can see no reason at all why they can't finish in the top four. In fact I'll be very surprised if they don't."
