As many families cut back on luxuries, the cost of going to football is the subject of much debate with the price of a day to watch your team seemingly going up and up.
The German Bundesliga, with its affordable prices, has long been held up as the model English fans would like to adopt.
But the BBC’s annual Price of Football survey has revealed it is possible to watch Premier League action for just £15, and the price of tickets across all divisions has actually fallen by 2.4 per cent.

However, while many clubs have adopted a new attitude to pricing, others still flog their fans overpriced food and eye-wateringly dear season tickets.
Arsenal have come under intense criticism over the last few years for their sky-high prices, and while the Gunners have introduced initiatives introducing cheap tickets for children, they still lead the way when it comes to the most expensive admission.
The most expensive season ticket at the Emirates will set you back a massive £1,955 - the highest in the country - while the best seat in the house will cost you £126 at some matches. The Gunners ticket also comes with credits for cup matches.
However, top-flight action is available on the cheap, with seats on sale at Newcastle’s St. James’ Park for just £15.

In fact, you can visit over half the grounds in the league for less than £25, while just £299 gets you the cheapest season ticket at Manchester City, who finished five points above Arsenal last season.
As anyone who goes to football knows, the day isn’t complete without some food and drink. Manchester United are the champions of the Premier League, and the price of a cup of tea at Old Trafford reflects that - with a cuppa costing £2.50.
You can get the Welsh equivalent in Cardiff at just £1.70.
Selhurst Park may not be the most modern ground in the Premier League, but they’ve got modern pricing on the traditional half-time snack, with a pie at Palace setting you back £4. Stoke, meanwhile, offer the cheapest pie at £2.90.
Programmes are almost universally £3, with six clubs charging 50 pence more.

West Ham are the second most expensive draw in the top flight. An adult won’t get into Upton Park this season for any less than £37 - only behind Liverpool in the dearest bottom-price ticket.
While their cheapest season pass stands at £600, the fifth highest in the country and one place above London rivals Chelsea.
Overall, including the cost of a ticket, a programme, a pie and a cup of tea, the cheapest day out at Upton Park costs £47.50, 90 pence less than Liverpool.

THE CHEAPEST DAY OUT IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE

West Ham are the surprise entry as the second-most expensive 'cheapest day out' in the Premier League, while Swansea also feature highly.
Much-derided Arsenal, meanwhile, defy their critics by sitting somewhere around mid-table thanks to a cheapest ticket of £26.
Liverpool are the most expensive team in the country to have a bargain weekend trip, at £46.60.
The cheapest day out is calculated by getting the least expensive adult, non-concession ticket in the ground, and buying a programme, a pie and a cup of tea.
